Night drone attack damages Ukrainian diesel locomotive in Kharkiv region

On the night of March 14, Russian forces attacked Ukrzaliznytsia facilities, injuring a train engineer and his assistant.

According to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Russia struck various regions of Ukraine with drones and missiles, targeting Kyiv, Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and other areas. There were fatalities in Kyiv region.

 

 

That night, the enemy also attacked the railway. In Kharkiv region, a suburban train was hit by a Russian drone. Passengers were unharmed. The engineer and his assistant sustained shrapnel injuries and received medical assistance on site. The diesel locomotive, in use due to a power outage in the overhead lines, was damaged.

 

 

The night before, in Kryvorizkyi district, Russians struck a station area with a drone. The locomotive was damaged, but the crew had been evacuated in advance, and there were no casualties.

Despite the attacks, evacuations of passengers due to shelling threats and infrastructure damage, Ukrzaliznytsia trains continue to operate, Kuleba noted.
