The New Zealand government has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia aimed at limiting Moscow's ability to continue its war against Ukraine, according to the New Zealand government.
Foreign Minister Winston Peters said the latest measures target 33 individuals and entities involved in cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns, and the supply of weapons and logistical support to the Russian military.
The sanctions also target key individuals responsible for the illegal deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children to Russia.
In addition, New Zealand has expanded its sanctions to include international entities from third countries that provide direct military and economic support to the Kremlin.
Among those affected are defense industry organizations in Iran and North Korea that supply Russia with drones, artillery ammunition, and missile technologies.
Peters said New Zealand would continue working in close coordination with its international partners to close loopholes in existing sanctions and hold accountable all those contributing to the erosion of international security.
