Mykolaiv topped the nationwide ranking and will present its experience and potential at the international Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC-2026) in Poland.
This was reported on Telegram by Oleksandr Sienkevych.
“The Mykolaiv territorial community ranked first in Ukraine following the competitive selection conducted by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. Our city will now officially present its experience and potential at the international Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC-2026), which will take place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk,” Sienkevych wrote.
He also emphasized that a total of 356 communities from across the country competed for the opportunity to participate in this prestigious international platform. Following the evaluation process, the ministry selected the 102 best communities, with Mykolaiv heading the nationwide list.
The selection process was conducted using a transparent ranking system based on five key criteria. Mykolaiv’s top position in the ranking was the result of systematic work in areas such as a high level of investment readiness and quality strategic planning, successful international cooperation experience, transparent governance processes, the application of a modern territorial approach to reconstruction, and participation in intermunicipal cooperation programs.
The conference in Gdańsk will bring together heads of state and government, international financial institutions (IFIs), global business leaders, and donors. The event is aimed at attracting direct investment, announcing major new partnerships, signing agreements, and launching joint projects for the reconstruction of infrastructure most heavily damaged by Russian aggression, particularly in the energy and logistics sectors.
