The Government of the Republic of Moldova has extended temporary protection for people displaced from Ukraine for another year, until March 1, 2027. Unlike in 2024–2025, this extension will not be applied automatically and will require a submitted application.

"This measure ensures stability, predictability, and continuity for displaced persons living and working in our country. We continue to provide protection to vulnerable individuals, ensuring access to education, healthcare, and employment," said Interior Minister Daniela Misail-Nicitin, according to the Moldovan government website.

Starting in 2026, extensions of temporary protection for those wishing to maintain this status in Moldova will be granted only upon submitting an application electronically via the government platform protectietemporara.gov.md between February 1 and April 30.
