Mass Russian strikes hit multiple Ukrainian regions

Russian forces continued large-scale attacks across several Ukrainian regions over the past day, killing civilians, damaging energy infrastructure, and striking residential areas with drones, guided bombs, artillery, and ballistic missiles.

In the Kharkiv region, Russian attacks killed two people and injured 12 others, including a child, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. Russia used guided aerial bombs and 55 drones of various types, including Geran-2, Molniya, and FPV drones.

In Kharkiv city, drones struck the Saltivskyi and Novobavarskyi districts, damaging around 30 private homes, cars, and a postal facility. Among the injured were four residents aged between 47 and 73.

Elsewhere in the region, a 67-year-old woman was killed in Pokotylivka, while a 33-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl were injured. Another civilian was killed in the village of Shevchenkove in Kupiansk district. Additional damage was reported in Bohodukhiv, Balakliia, and other communities, where homes, power lines, medical facilities, warehouses, and agricultural infrastructure came under fire.

Russian drones also attacked Kryvyi Rih overnight, injuring a woman and damaging several residential buildings, local officials said.

In the Sumy region, Russian forces launched nearly 110 attacks on 45 settlements between the morning of May 18 and the morning of May 19. Two civilians were injured, including a 20-year-old man wounded in a drone strike.

Regional authorities said Russia used artillery, mortars, MLRS systems, guided bombs, FPV drones, and other UAVs. Numerous homes, civilian infrastructure facilities, vehicles, and administrative buildings were destroyed or damaged across border communities. Authorities evacuated 28 residents from frontline areas during the day.

Russia also targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Late on May 18, Russian forces struck Naftogaz Group facilities in Dnipropetrovsk region with three ballistic missiles, causing damage and destruction at production assets.

On the morning of May 19, drones hit several gas infrastructure sites in Chernihiv region. Naftogaz reported that critical equipment was damaged and personnel at one of the facilities had to be evacuated. No casualties were reported.

In Donetsk region, Russian forces carried out 1,336 strikes along the front line and residential areas over the past day, killing two civilians and injuring three others, regional police said.

The heaviest attacks were recorded in Kramatorsk, where Russia launched ten strikes, including attacks with Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. One civilian was killed and three others were injured. More than 20 private homes, apartment buildings, civilian vehicles, and industrial facilities were damaged.

In Druzhkivka, Russian forces dropped three GAB-250 guided bombs, killing one person and damaging apartment buildings. Additional strikes damaged homes and civilian property in Sloviansk, Mykolaivka, and other settlements across the region.
