The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the escalation in relations between Ukraine and Poland is a serious mistake and stressed that contradictions between neighboring countries can create political and economic risks.
He said this during an open discussion with students at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
“With Poland — this is a classic diplomatic tension. It is not a conflict, let’s say it that way. It is a contradiction. It is not yet the peak, believe me, it will go further if everyone doesn’t calm down a bit,” he said.
At the same time, when asked to assess the situation with Poland, Budanov said:
“I evaluate it very badly, I see it as a mistake, a serious mistake.”
The head of the Office of the President stressed that it is necessary to maintain good or neutral relations with neighbors. He added that escalation with neighboring countries always leads to serious problems, ranging from political to economic ones.
