Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov believes that anti-drone nets cannot protect the city from the main types of weapons used by Russian forces in aerial attacks.
“Anti-drone nets will not be a panacea for Kharkiv. The city is being attacked with Shahed drones, guided aerial bombs, and ballistic missiles, and no such net is capable of stopping these types of weapons,” Terekhov was quoted as saying by the press service.
According to him, anti-drone nets are effective against kamikaze drones such as the Lancet, which Russian troops mainly use near the front line. Cases of Lancet strikes on Kharkiv are rare.
Terekhov also noted that thanks to air defense, it is possible to prevent a significantly larger number of strikes on the city, allowing Kharkiv to continue living and operating.
