Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has pledged to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine during the upcoming winter season.

Meloni took part via video link in a meeting of the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing held to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
In her address, Meloni reiterated the Italian government’s congratulations to President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people on the anniversary, reaffirming Italy’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence. She also expressed deep sympathy over the suffering caused by Russia’s continued attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Prime Minister Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to humanitarian assistance ahead of the winter season, which will continue with the delivery of additional generators, particularly to support the resilience of the Ukrainian population and ensure the stability of the energy grid.
During the summit, the leaders agreed on the need to strengthen the effectiveness of the sanctions regime and counter any attempts to circumvent it, with the aim of further weakening Moscow’s war machine.
