Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk held talks with Lorenzo Fontana, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, during a conference of EU parliamentary leaders in Copenhagen, focusing on defense cooperation and security challenges.

According to Stefanchuk, the meeting centered on joint defense initiatives and the exchange of military expertise, particularly in countering drones and developing anti-drone technologies. The two sides also discussed broader efforts to strengthen a European defense framework.

Stefanchuk briefed his Italian counterpart on the current frontline situation and the security threats Ukraine faces on a daily basis. He emphasized that Ukraine’s experience in resisting Russian aggression is increasingly valuable for Europe.

“Ukraine is not only receiving support but also generating unique knowledge, technological solutions, and practical experience that can strengthen the security of our partners,” he said.

The discussion also touched on developments in the Middle East and the wider global security landscape.

Stefanchuk thanked Italy for its continued support and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in enhancing shared security.
