The Ukrainian electric steelmaking complex Interpipe Steel has ordered new equipment from the international Italian company Danieli to produce 310 mm diameter billets on Continuous Casting Machine No. 2 (CCM No. 2).
According to Danieli, the modernization of CCM No. 2 will expand its range of round billets by adding the new 310 mm diameter, increasing production flexibility. Under the contract, Danieli will carry out detailed engineering, mechanical, and process design to ensure smooth integration with the existing casting infrastructure.
“This project strengthens the long-standing partnership between Danieli and Interpipe Steel, built on shared technical expertise and closely coordinated engineering efforts,” the company said in a statement.
The new round section is being developed to enable the production of high-quality steel while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability. The equipment will be designed in line with modern performance standards for Interpipe Steel’s casting processes.
The commissioning of the equipment is expected by the end of 2026.
