The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is interested in continuing cooperation with Ukraine on infrastructure projects implemented through public-private partnerships.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between the leadership of Ukraine’s Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport and an IFC delegation.

The parties discussed further cooperation on infrastructure projects based on public-private partnerships (PPPs), including a transition from individual projects towards developing a systematic portfolio of investment projects.

In the port sector, discussions focused on continuing concession projects, including progress on the First and Container Terminals at the Port of Chornomorsk. Four international companies have already passed the prequalification stage.

At the same time, work is continuing on new initiatives aimed at attracting investors to Ukraine’s port sector.

In the road sector, the parties agreed on plans to jointly prepare new road projects and border transport corridors with IFC support. These include further development of the weigh-in-motion (WIM) network for automatic weighing of trucks.

The meeting also covered the development of passenger railway infrastructure, including plans to transform the Kyiv and Lviv railway station complexes into modern transport and commercial hubs.
