The Ukrainian government has identified UAH 70 billion in budget funds not earmarked for defence spending that can be redirected to the military.
Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi announced this during an address to the Verkhovna Rada.
“The government is introducing a strict regime of budgetary savings for funds that are not earmarked for defence needs. We have already identified UAH 70 billion in savings, which will be allocated in full to the needs of the military,” Koretskyi said.
At the same time, he stressed that all necessary social obligations, including pension and salary payments, would be fulfilled.
The government will also apply the principle of maximum budgetary savings when preparing the draft state budget for 2027.
