Russia is showing signs of nervousness, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, referring to what she described as provocations by Moscow.
Speaking about Italy’s support for Ukraine, Meloni said:
“If Italy wants to play a role, it is important that it maintains a clear position.”
According to Meloni, that position “has never wavered”.
She also described “continuous Russian provocations” as a sign of “a sort of nervousness”.
Her comments come against the backdrop of drone incidents and acts of sabotage in several European countries. Earlier in September, Germany formally accused Russia for the first time of involvement in a drone incident at Leipzig Airport and announced diplomatic and other measures in response.
