Germany will invest more than €10 million in the infrastructure of military training centers in Ukraine as part of an EU initiative aimed at ensuring the long-term combat readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was announced by German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius, as reported by ZDF.

“Germany is contributing more than €10 million to an EU initiative to establish military training centers in Ukraine. With this contribution, the Federal Republic is financing the infrastructure for a fully equipped training facility, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) said on the sidelines of a visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv,” the report said.

According to Pistorius, the creation of such centers directly in Ukraine is intended to support the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at an adequate level even after the end of active hostilities.

In addition to building infrastructure inside Ukraine, Germany continues to train Ukrainian soldiers at its own training grounds. Nearly 27,000 servicemembers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already undergone training in Germany.
