Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out overnight strikes on July 23 against a Russian oil tanker in the Black Sea and a pontoon bridge used by Russian forces in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“In the early hours of July 23, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck a number of important military and military-economic targets,” the General Staff said.

Among the targets was a tanker operating in the Black Sea that is used to transport Russian crude oil, petroleum products and fuel in support of the Russian Armed Forces.

Ukrainian forces also struck a pontoon crossing near the settlement of Novoekonomichne in the Donetsk region. According to the military, Russian forces use the crossing to support logistics operations and move personnel and equipment.

In addition, Ukrainian forces targeted an area where Russian troops were concentrated in the city of Horlivka in the Donetsk region.
