The speed of decision-making by Ukrainian military personnel on the battlefield has increased: immediate combat tasks are now being carried out without waiting for decisions from the central command.

This was stated by the Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada, General Jennie Carignan, during the 18th annual Kyiv Security Forum on the theme “Darkness or Dawn: Is There Light Ahead?”

“Thanks to the technologies available for communication and connectivity, and the speed at which data is transmitted across different areas of the battlefield, the pace of decision-making has significantly increased,” Carignan said, speaking about the human aspect of Ukrainian achievements on the battlefield.

She noted that the success and innovation of Ukrainian soldiers are impressive.

“On the battlefield, young leaders are able to make quick decisions and carry out immediate military tasks assigned to them. They do not wait for a decision to come from the center,” she said.

The Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada emphasized that, for her, this is a key component of the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) is an annual international event founded in 2007. This year it is taking place on April 23–24.
