Ukrainian commercial fishermen harvested more than 1,920 tonnes of aquatic biological resources in January–June 2026.

This was reported by the State Agency of Ukraine for the Development of Land Reclamation, Fisheries and Food Programs.

The largest share of the catch traditionally consisted of Prussian carp — 857 tonnes, or about 45% of the total volume. Other major commercial species included bream (360 tonnes), roach (139 tonnes), Black Sea herring (103 tonnes), white bream (95 tonnes), herbivorous fish — silver carp and grass carp (83 tonnes), pike-perch (66 tonnes), and perch (49 tonnes).

The agency noted that due to the blockade of the Black and Azov Seas, commercial fishing of marine species is practically not carried out, so most of the catch comes from inland water bodies.

The largest catch volume was recorded in the Kremenchuk Reservoir — more than 536 tonnes. High figures were also recorded in the lower reaches of the Dniester River together with the Dniester Estuary (400 tonnes), the Kamianske Reservoir (373 tonnes), and the Dnipro Reservoir (230 tonnes).
