Finland is sending its 30th package of defense assistance to Ukraine.

This was reported in a press release from the Finnish Ministry of Defense.

According to the statement, the President of Finland approved the decision today based on the government’s proposal.

Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen stated:

“The capabilities provided in this package will cost Finland approximately 52 million euros.”

He noted that the package consists mainly of new orders from Finnish companies.

“Finland has already delivered defense equipment to Ukraine worth a total of 2.9 billion euros. Relative to the size of its economy, Finland is among the countries that have supported Ukraine the most. This week, we also announced our participation in NATO’s PURL initiative, which procures weapon systems from the United States that are critically important for Ukraine. The future of a free and secure Europe will be decided in Ukraine — this requires persistence and resilience from all allies,” the minister emphasized.

In spring 2025, the Finnish Ministry of Defense launched a program to support Ukraine by purchasing products intended for Ukraine from Finland’s defense industry. The goal of the program is to meet Ukraine’s critical needs, ensure the suitability of procured products, and safeguard the production and supply capacities of Finnish companies.

For operational reasons, no further details about the content of the assistance, the delivery method, or the schedule will be disclosed.

The Ministry of Defense of Finland noted that, in making the decision, both Ukraine’s needs and the resources of the Finnish Armed Forces were taken into account.
