Ukrainian retail and logistics company Epicentr says a large-scale Russian missile attack has destroyed key production and logistics facilities, killing one employee and forcing the shutdown of one of its manufacturing plants.
According to a company statement, Russian missiles simultaneously struck two of Epicentr's main logistics complexes during the overnight attack.
In Kyiv, one of the company's primary logistics centers on Viskozna Street was completely destroyed by fire. At the company's logistics and manufacturing complex in Kalynivka, one employee was killed and three others were injured. The injured workers are receiving hospital treatment.
Direct missile strikes completely destroyed two large warehouse facilities. Another missile hit the production site of Epicentr Ceramic Corporation, where the explosion destroyed all of the plant's industrial kilns, making further production impossible.
The attack also destroyed the parking area outside the logistics complex, where 20 employees' vehicles were burned.
Epicentr said it has been forced to suspend production at Epicentr Ceramic Corporation. To avoid supply shortages and maintain deliveries, the company plans to shift production primarily to its two manufacturing facilities abroad while preparing to launch production at another plant in Ukraine.
According to the company's preliminary estimates, rebuilding the destroyed manufacturing capacity will take at least 18 months and more likely around two years.
Epicentr said its immediate priority is to relocate production abroad to ensure uninterrupted operations and fulfill its commitments to partners and customers.
The company added that it is still impossible to determine the full extent of the damage, stressing that the attack was not only directed at Epicentr but also constituted a deliberate strike against Ukraine's manufacturing sector, logistics infrastructure, jobs, and the country's ability to recover.
