On the night of September 9, drones attacked the city of Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar region, causing a fire at a fuel oil terminal.
The mayor of Novorossiysk confirmed that a fire had broken out but claimed it was caused by falling debris. He did not name the facility that was hit or provide information about the extent of the damage or possible casualties. OSINT analysts from ASTRA established that the fire occurred at the Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal.
According to Dnipro Osint, the strike targeted facilities at the port complex, damaging at least one storage tank at the fuel oil terminal.
Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal LLC is one of the leading enterprises of the Novorossiysk transport hub, which forms part of the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port — Russia’s largest seaport by cargo throughput.
The terminal specialises in the storage and transshipment of fuel oil and light petroleum products and has an annual handling capacity of around 4 million tonnes.
