Overnight on February 5, multiple regions of Ukraine were struck by Russian drone, missile, and artillery attacks, resulting in casualties and extensive damage to residential and public infrastructure.
In Kyiv, two people were injured during a drone attack, according to Kyiv police. In the Solomianskyi district, drone debris damaged the façades and shattered windows of four high-rise residential buildings. A 79-year-old woman was hospitalized, while an 89-year-old woman received medical assistance on site. In the Darnytskyi district, a falling UAV damaged the façade of a residential building, and in the Obolonskyi district, debris caused two cars to catch fire in a parking lot. A drone also hit the roof of an office building in the Shevchenkivskyi district; rescuers quickly extinguished the fire. Investigative and operational teams, explosives experts, and emergency services are documenting the consequences of the attacks.
In the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv region, a man sustained a lacerated chest wound during a Russian drone attack and was hospitalized. A private house was also damaged, with further details expected.
In Kherson region, four people were killed and five others injured over the past day, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration. Russian drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling hit numerous settlements, including Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Zelenivka, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Kizomys, Yantarne, Dniprovske, Oleksandrivka, Tomyna Balka, Mykilske, Dariivka, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Charivne, Novoraisk, Urozhayne, Ukrainka, Chervone, Fedorivka, Burhunka, Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Osokorivka, Lvive, Novooleksandrivka, Odradokamianka, Respublikаnets, Sablukivka, Tyahynka, Vesele, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged three apartment buildings, 14 private houses, a warehouse, trolleybuses, and private vehicles.
In Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 786 strikes across 30 settlements, injuring three people in the Polohy district, according to Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. The attacks included 20 airstrikes on towns such as Komyshuvakha, Rizdvianyka, Ternuvate, Nove Pole, Barvinivka, Liubytske, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Verkhnia Tersa, Zelene, Kopani, Rivne, Dolynka, Vozdvyzhivka, and Novosoloshyne. A missile strike targeted the city of Zaporizhzhia. In addition, 533 drones, mostly FPV, attacked numerous towns, while four multiple-launch rocket system strikes and 228 artillery strikes were recorded across the region. Authorities reported 69 instances of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
In Sumy, a nighttime Russian attack shattered windows in apartment buildings and damaged vehicles, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Emergency recovery operations are ongoing, supported by volunteers and municipal services. A mobile heating point has been deployed. In the Shostka community, a fire in a non-residential building was extinguished after repeated interventions by rescuers due to the threat of further attacks. No casualties have been reported.
