Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal participated in a meeting with EU Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, defense ministers of Denmark, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Bulgaria, as well as NATO representatives.

During the discussion, Denys Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine is ready to participate in the “Drone Wall” project.

“We are already eager and able to play an active role in protecting Europe from the Russian drone threat. During the discussion, we focused on concrete steps to implement this project initiated by the European Commission. The ‘Drone Wall’ will create a fundamentally new defense ecosystem in Europe, of which Ukraine is ready to be a part. Together with our allies, we will coordinate our response to Russian provocations in the air and implement the most effective solutions,” said the Ukrainian Defense Minister.

Denys Shmyhal added that Ukraine expects to sign the relevant declaration with partners as early as October. Ukraine is already prepared to deploy technical teams to train groups that will become part of the “Drone Wall.”

“Ukraine is a recognized leader in unmanned technologies. We are ready to share our experience in downing Russian drones with the EU, NATO, and neighboring countries,” the Defense Minister noted.

The sides also discussed the involvement of Ukrainian manufacturers in the project, as Ukraine has innovative solutions proven in practice.

“The aggressor has already carried out deliberate provocations against Denmark, Poland, and the Baltic countries. The EU must be ready to respond decisively to such escalation. Ukraine’s role here is key,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.

He thanked the European Commission for organizing the discussion and the participants for their readiness to unite efforts to protect the European continent.
