Defense Forces shot down three Iskander-K missiles and 23 Shahed drones

During the night of April 18, 2025 (starting at 7:30 PM on April 17), Russian forces launched a strike on Ukraine using ground-launched missiles and attack UAVs.

According to preliminary data, the radio-technical units of the Air Force detected and tracked 43 enemy aerial threats — 6 missiles of various types and 37 attack UAVs (including decoy drones of other types), specifically:

  • 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile (launched from Crimea);

  • 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from temporarily occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia region and Crimea);

  • 37 Shahed-type attack UAVs and decoy drones of other types (launched from Millerovo and Kursk in Russia).

The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces using aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, and mobile fire teams.

As of 9:30 AM, 26 aerial targets have been confirmed as downed:

  • 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles;

  • 23 Shahed-type attack UAVs.

10 decoy drones were lost from radar tracking.

As a result of the attack, the following regions were affected: Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv.
