Russia is experiencing problems with Chinese-made jet engines for drones, according to Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
“That is why I want to emphasise once again: international sanctions are necessary. Today, Russia is experiencing certain problems with jet engines for drones. These are engines from China. This is the result of our actions and those of our partners,” Skibitskyi said during the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv, organised by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
According to Skibitskyi, China is aware of the potential consequences, risks and problems for its own industry associated with supplying fuel to the Russian Federation.
He also stressed that Defence Intelligence is aware of all Russian enterprises and companies involved in production, including joint production with Chinese companies.
“Unfortunately, however, they are located far from our border — more than 2,000 kilometres away. Striking such targets is not easy; it is only possible using long-range strike capabilities, including drones,” he concluded.
