Units of Russia’s 101st Missile Brigade, which is equipped with the Oreshnik intermediate-range missile system, have been deployed in Belarus.

Oleh Ivashchenko, head of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

He noted that there are currently no signs that Belarus is preparing to enter the war against Ukraine, while the level of military threat to Ukraine from the Belarusian direction is assessed as low.

“However, we are concerned that Belarus has allowed radio-signal relay stations to be deployed on its territory, which are used to guide Russian Shahed-type strike UAVs towards Ukrainian civilian facilities and critical infrastructure. We have also recorded the deployment in Belarus of units of the Russian Armed Forces’ 101st Missile Brigade, which is equipped with the Oreshnik intermediate-range missile system,” Ivashchenko said.

According to him, if Belarus did not grant such permission, this would indicate that Minsk no longer controls Russia’s activities on its own territory.
