Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of important targets in Russia and in the territories temporarily occupied by it yesterday and on the night of April 16.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Among other targets, the defenders struck the Tuapse Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. This facility processes up to 12 million tons of oil per year and is actively involved in supplying the Russian army.

“A hit on the target was confirmed, followed by a fire at the facility. The extent of the damage is being уточнюється (clarified),” the General Staff noted.

The strike was carried out by drones of the SSU’s “Alpha” Special Operations Center in coordination with other components of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces (SBS, Special Operations Forces, and the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense).

According to an SSU source, several infrastructure facilities at the Tuapse port oil terminal were hit. This terminal forms a single production complex together with the Tuapse refinery and belongs to the company Rosneft.

As a result of the strike, deep-water oil loading racks, pipeline infrastructure, and storage tanks at the marine terminal and refinery were damaged. Additionally, a multifunctional radar station 50N6E was hit.

“The Security Service continues to carry out systematic strikes on Russia’s oil refining infrastructure, which provides the enemy with resources, including financial ones, to wage war against Ukraine. ‘Explosions at Russian refineries will continue, as they are completely legitimate military targets,” the source said.

The General Staff also reported that the following Rssian targets were struck in occupied Ukrainian territories:

  • an area of concentration of a tactical group of the 15th Separate Coastal Missile Brigade “Bastion” of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Sevastopol (Crimea);
  • a Buk-M2 surface-to-air missile system in occupied Bahativka, Zaporizhzhia region;
  • a Pantsir air defense missile-gun system in occupied Feodosia (Crimea);
  • an Osa surface-to-air missile system in occupied Vodiane, Donetsk region.

In addition, drone control points of Russian forces were hit in the areas of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia region) and Hola Prystan (Kherson region), as well as Russian personnel in the areas of Rodynske and Zatyshne (Donetsk region), and a Russian command post near Rivnopil (Donetsk region).

Clarification of enemy losses is ongoing.
