Russian troops are amassing manpower and heavy equipment in preparation for a further assault on the city of Myrnohrad in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

This was reported on Facebook by the “East” grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of responsibility of the East Operational Grouping are holding back Russian pressure and, over the past day, repelled 59 Russian assault attempts.

Ukrainian units continue active operations in the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration. The Russian forces are suffering significant losses, the military said.

The Defense Forces continue to control the northern part of Pokrovsk. Search-and-assault operations are ongoing, and Russian troops are being eliminated in urban areas. Systematic fire strikes are being carried out against Russian units attempting to concentrate in the southern part of the city.

In Myrnohrad, Ukrainian defenders are holding designated defensive lines.

The Russians are increasing pressure on the northern part of the city, attempting to build up heavy equipment and manpower for a further assault on Myrnohrad.

To contain the Russian troops the necessary forces and assets are being deployed. Fire strikes are being carried out against Russian concentration areas and logistics routes.
