The situation in the southern direction remains difficult, with no major changes – Russian forces are increasing their use of drones and aviation while engaging in active combat, particularly on the Huliaipole direction. This was reported by Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn.
“The situation is quite difficult, but without sharp changes,” he said.
According to him, the Russian forces are not reducing its combat activity.
“The enemy conducted about fifteen clashes, the vast majority on the Huliaipole direction, near Huliaipole, Dobropillia, Luhivske, Rybne, and Zaliznychne,” the spokesperson noted.
Voloshyn emphasized a sharp rise in drone usage.
“Over the past day, 1,600 drone strikes were recorded, along with more than 500 enemy reconnaissance UAVs,” he reported.
At the same time, he assured that Ukrainian forces are inflicting losses on the Russian troops.
“Over the past day, we destroyed a significant number of enemy drone operators – about fifty,” Voloshyn stressed.
He added that the Russian forces are actively using artillery and conducting assault operations.
“The weather has stabilized in the south, and the enemy is carrying out both assaults and shelling at roughly the level we usually record at this time,” the spokesperson said.
Ukrainian forces are also inflicting substantial losses on Russian armored vehicles and multiple-launch rocket systems, disrupting preparations for mechanized assaults in the south.
“The enemy has recently suffered significant losses in weapons and combat equipment,” he said.
He explained that Ukrainian troops destroy tanks daily, preventing the Russian forces from forming mechanized columns for assaults.
“In the settlement of Solodke, our fighters destroyed an enemy tank, and here we destroy 1–2 tanks daily. We strike them to prevent the enemy from forming mechanized columns with armored vehicles for assaults on our positions,” Voloshyn said.
He added that, besides armored vehicles, Ukrainian forces are targeting Russian multiple-launch rocket systems.
“Today, we also destroyed a Korean Type-75 MLRS in Nesterianka and a BM-21 Grad MLRS in Malynivka,” the spokesperson noted.
Voloshyn emphasized that strikes are carried out throughout the depth of the Russian formation.
“We hit the enemy wherever our reconnaissance identifies targets to reduce their capabilities and strength for assaults. We strike them in the rear,” he explained.
