Belgium joins Council of Europe Special Tribunal to prosecute Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine

The Kingdom of Belgium has decided to join the Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine.

This was announced by Belgium’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a post on the social network X on Thursday.

“Belgium joins the Special Tribunal for the investigation of the crime of aggression against Ukraine,” the ministry stated.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the tribunal was established within the framework of the Council of Europe and is mandated to prosecute high-ranking political and military leaders for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
