On the territory of Belarus, the construction of training ranges and logistical routes is ongoing. Russia does not currently have a sufficient military grouping in Belarus to launch an offensive against Ukraine; however, the infrastructure being created there could be used at any moment.

This was stated by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during a television broadcast.

“There is certain activity on the territory of Belarus. It also includes the creation of logistical routes, training ranges, and possible further activity related to cooperation with Russia. Unfortunately, Belarus continues to support the terrorist country,” he said.

According to him, Russia is not currently maintaining forces in Belarus in sufficient numbers to pose a threat to Ukraine, “but at any moment, all the infrastructure being created by Belarus can, of course, be used by Russia.”

“Intelligence units of the Ministry of Defense and the State Border Guard Service are monitoring how the situation may develop… The movement of Russian units into Belarus will not go unnoticed,” Demchenko emphasized.

The SBGS spokesperson added that Ukraine’s task is to repel any attempts of invasion and counter any efforts to escalate the situation, “especially if there are provocative actions directly near our border.”
