Two people were killed and at least 18 injured after Russian forces struck a shopping and entertainment centre in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, on Thursday.
The attack hit the shopping centre in central Pavlohrad during the day, when many people were on the streets, according to Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.
"Emergency services and police are working at the scene. The strike caused fires involving cars, retail pavilions and a shop," according to regional authorities.
Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha confirmed that two people had been killed and at least 18 injured.
Vyhivskyi said Russian forces have carried out more than 18,000 attacks on Dnipropetrovsk region since the beginning of 2026, most of them involving drones.
He said Russia had recently intensified attacks on food warehouses, residential areas, trains and shopping centres.
The protection of civilians and responses to such attacks were discussed during an expanded security meeting in Dnipro involving regional authorities, representatives of Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces, lawmakers and Interior Ministry officials.

Four people were killed and more than 60 injured in a Russian attack on Pavlohrad. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported the updated casualty figures on Telegram. According to him, three boys aged 13, 14 and 15 are among those injured.
“All those injured are currently in hospital. Doctors are providing the necessary medical assistance,” Hanzha said.
