In 2025, the Russian Federation stole 2 million tons of Ukrainian grain, which it sold in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and even in European countries. About 40% was sent to Egypt.

This was stated by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during the Third Black Sea Security Conference.

He noted that this concerns not only stolen grain but also the financing of Russia’s war, so decisive actions are necessary—it is important to influence those who bought the stolen grain.

In addition, the minister said that in recent months Russia has attacked the infrastructure of the Port of Odessa more than in all previous years. He emphasized that this escalation must receive a “worthy response.”

“We must restore peace and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. The Black Sea must once again become a peaceful sea, with security, rules, and functioning supply chains. But today we can see that this sea is one of Russian war,” Andriyi Sybiha stressed.

The minister noted that Russia used Crimea to attack mainland Ukraine, and in the future, the peninsula could become a springboard for attacks on other regions. According to Andrii Sybiha, the only solution in this case is the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
