Air defenses shoot down 217 of 232 Russian drones in overnight attack

During the night of May 29 (from 18:00 on May 28), the Russian forces attacked with a ballistic missile — Iskander-M/S-400 — launched from the Kursk region of Russia, as well as 232 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered variants), Herber, Italmas, and decoy drones of the "Parodiya" type, launched from the following directions: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Hvardiske, and Chauda from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defence Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 08:30, air defence forces shot down/suppressed 217 UAVs of the Shahed, Herber, Italmas types and other drone types in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by the ballistic missile and 14 strike UAVs were recorded at 14 locations, as well as the fall of downed UAV debris at 7 locations.
