During the night of May 28 (starting from 6:30 p.m. on May 27), the Russian forces attacked with a Kinzhal aeroballistic missile launched from the airspace over Russia’s Lipetsk region, as well as 147 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and drones of other types launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiiske and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., Ukraine’s air defense had shot down or suppressed 138 UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and drones of other types.
Hits by a Kinzhal aeroballistic missile and 9 strike UAVs were recorded at 7 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at 6 locations.
