On the night of January 28 (from 18:00 on January 27), the Russian forces carried out an attack using an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Russia’s Rostov region, as well as 146 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, along with drones of other types, launched from the following directions: Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea. About 90 of them were Shahed drones.
The air assault was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 103 UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types, over northern, southern, central, and eastern regions of the country.
Impacts of one ballistic missile and 36 attack UAVs were recorded at 22 locations.
