Air defence downs 71 of 92 Russian drones and missiles

On the night of September 7 (starting from 18:00 on September 6), Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 92 Shahed-type strike UAVs, including jet-powered variants, Gerbera drones, Parodiya-type decoy drones, as well as S8000 Banderol drones launched from the directions of Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, Ukraine’s air defence shot down or suppressed 71 Russian UAVs, including Shahed and Gerbera drones and other types of drones.

Russian aerial weapons struck 12 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at one location.
