On May 1 (from 08:00 to 15:30), the Russian forces launched an attack using 409 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones (some jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmass, and other types of drones. They were launched from the directions of Shatalovo, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea. About 250 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 15:30, Ukraine’s air defense shot down or suppressed 388 UAVs of various types across the north, south, center, and west of the country.
Hits by 16 strike UAVs were recorded at 6 locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling at 11 locations.
