A crashed drone has been discovered in southern Moldova near the Ukrainian border, the Border Police reported on Tuesday, according to NewsMaker.
According to officials, the drone was found in a field near the village of Tudora, approximately 500 meters from the border with Ukraine. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
Earlier that night, Moldovan border guards detected an airspace violation by a UAV visually resembling a Shahed-type drone. It was flying at an altitude of about 150 meters and was heading toward the village of Coplani.
The General Police Inspectorate stated that the drone is active and contains an explosive charge.
Local residents have been evacuated as a precaution. Authorities are urging citizens to remain calm and follow instructions from law enforcement.
Moldova has previously recorded multiple incidents of missile debris and downed drones on its territory following Russian strikes on Ukraine.
