The 17th Odesa International Film Festival is now open for submissions to its competition programmes. This year, the festival will take place from August 27 to September 4 and will be held in Kyiv for the third consecutive time.

The festival’s competitive lineup will include the National Competition Programme and the International Competition Programme. In addition, pitching sessions will be organized within the Film Industry Office section, alongside a range of non-competitive special screening programmes.

The call for entries to the OIFF 2025 competition programmes opens on January 15 and runs through May 15.

The National Competition Programme is open to Ukrainian feature-length films and international co-productions with Ukraine (fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental) of all genres, completed in 2025 or 2026. Winners of the National Competition Programme will be determined in the following categories: Best Ukrainian Feature-Length Fiction Film and Best Ukrainian Feature-Length Documentary Film. In addition, a Diploma of the International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI will be awarded.

The International Competition Programme is open to international feature-length films (fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental) of all genres, completed in 2025 or 2026. The winner of the International Competition Programme is determined in the Best International Feature-Length Film nomination.

The Grand Prix  (based on audience voting) will be selected from films presented in both the National and International Competition Programmes.

Within the Film Industry Office section, presentations of feature-length fiction, documentary, and animated film projects at the Development and Work in Progress stages will take place. Projects submitted for consideration must be of Ukrainian production or international co-production with Ukraine.

To submit a film to the 17th OIFF, applicants must complete the online application form available on the official festival website or via FilmFreeway, and provide all required materials by 14:59:59 (Kyiv time) on May 15, 2026.

Detailed information on the rules and submission procedures for the 17th Odesa International Film Festival can be found on the OIFF website in the Regulations section.
