Over the past day, March 15, 167 combat engagements between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line. The Russian forces showed the greatest activity in the Pokrovsk direction, where 36 assault actions took place.
This was reported in a message by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook regarding the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16.
Russian forces carried out 101 airstrikes and dropped 287 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 9,122 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,525 shelling attacks on populated areas and the positions of Ukrainian troops, including 155 using multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor launched airstrikes, in particular, in the areas of the settlements of Ivanivka, Havrylivka, Prosyana, Kolomiytsi, Pokrovske, Orly, and Velykomykhailivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; Charivne, Lyubytske, Huliaipilske, Kopani, Myrne, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Novoselivka, Barvinivka, Orikhiv, and Veselianka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; and Mykilske and Lvove in Kherson Oblast.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two areas where Russian personnel were concentrated and three other important targets of Russian forces.
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, over the past day the Defense Forces repelled four Russian assaults. Russian forces carried out two airstrikes using four aerial bombs and conducted 99 shelling attacks, two of them with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces twice assaulted the positions of Ukrainian units toward the settlement of Vilcha.
In the Kupiansk direction, the aggressor attacked four times toward the settlements of Kurylivka, Novoosynove, and Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked six times, attempting to break into Ukrainian defenses toward the settlements of Dibrova, Lyman, and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk direction, over the past day Ukrainian defenders stopped 13 attempts by Russian forces to advance in the areas of the settlements of Yampil, Zakytne, and Platonivka, and toward the settlements of Ozerne, Riznykivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders three times in the area of Stupochky.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces carried out 23 attacks toward Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka, as well as in the areas of the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Berestok, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 36 assault actions by the aggressor toward the settlements of Vilne, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Toretske, and Bilytske, as well as toward Nove Shakhove and in the areas of the settlements of Zatyshok, Nykanorivka, Kotlyne, Novomykolaivka, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Molodetske, and Filiia.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces attacked 12 times in the areas of the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrohrad, Kalynivske, Berezove, Ternove, Pershotravneve, Novomykolaivka, and Zlahoda, and toward Verbove.
In the Huliaipole direction, there were 20 attacks by Russian forces in the area of Huliaipole and toward Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, one combat engagement with Russian forces took place in the area of Pavlivka.
In the Prydniprovske direction, no offensive actions by Russian forces were recorded.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were detected.
Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic destruction of Russian forces and are providing effective resistance along all sectors of the front.
In total, over the past day Russian losses amounted to 760 personnel. Russian forces also lost two armored combat vehicles, 19 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, one air defense system, 1,883 unmanned aerial vehicles, one boat (confirmed as a result of previous strikes), 111 vehicles, two pieces of special equipment, and two operational-tactical missile systems (also confirmed as a result of previous strikes).
