Sixteen people were killed and 42 others were injured in Kyiv as a result of Russian attacks throughout August 20.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“Since the night of August 20, the enemy has claimed the lives of 16 people in Kyiv, while 42 people were injured and another 12 were rescued,” the statement said.


According to the State Emergency Service, Russian forces attacked the capital for the third time in a single day on the evening of August 20. The strike caused a fire in a warehouse building. The blaze, which covered an area of 400 square metres, was extinguished at 00:07 on August 21. One person was reported injured in the attack.
In addition, emergency recovery operations at the site in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district are due to resume in the morning. As of 23:30, rescuers had dismantled five floor slabs and removed 62 cubic metres of destroyed building structures.
