The number of people injured in Russia's overnight missile and drone attack last night on the Odessa region has risen to 14, while damage to energy infrastructure left tens of thousands of residents without electricity, Ukrainian authorities said on Sunday.
Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said 11 of the injured were hospitalized.
"There are now 14 people injured as a result of the massive missile and drone attack on the Odessa region during the night of August 9," Kiper said.
According to Kiper, one victim is in critical condition, while five others sustained injuries of moderate severity. All are receiving medical treatment.
Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo said the attack damaged energy infrastructure in Odessa and other parts of the region, causing widespread power outages.
Emergency repair crews began work as soon as the security situation allowed. By Sunday morning, electricity had already been restored to around 90,000 customers who had lost power overnight.
Ukrenergo urged residents whose electricity supply had been restored to reduce consumption to help stabilize the grid while repair work continues.
Local authorities said power outages affected consumers and critical infrastructure in Odessa's Prymorskyi, Khadzhibeyskyi and Peresypskyi districts. Water supply was also disrupted in several areas, with deliveries of technical water organized until normal service can be restored.
