Zelensky names Yaroslav Melnyk ambassador to Luxembourg in addition to Belgium

Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium, Yaroslav Melnyk, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on a concurrent basis.

The relevant decree No. 344/2026 has been published on the website of the Office of the President.

According to open sources, Yaroslav Melnyk is a Ukrainian diplomat, former head of the Department of State Protocol and Ceremonial at the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Italian Republic (2020–2025), and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (2021–2025). He has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Belgium since July 21, 2025.
