President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni.
The Head of State thanked the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy for energy support during the winter and for the decision to continue assistance to Ukraine this year.
The leaders discussed the situation around Iran and challenges in the fuel market caused by the Iranian regime's actions.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Giorgia Meloni informed each other about the details of their contacts with the leaders of countries that are currently under attacks from Iran.
The President of Ukraine and the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy coordinated on the actions necessary for the decision on the €90 billion loan for Ukraine to finally come into effect. These are funds that must guarantee the resilience of our country and of all of Europe in defending against Russia’s aggression and are effectively secured by frozen Russian assets.
The leaders also discussed the situation with the Paralympic Games. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that it is not the first time this year that such international committees have adopted unprincipled decisions and highlighted the joint position with Giorgia Meloni on this issue.
