The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence is not preparing any legislative initiatives or draft laws concerning the mobilisation of women.
This was stated in an official announcement by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence officially states that there are no legislative initiatives, draft laws or even internal discussions concerning the mobilisation of women. Women in Ukraine join the Defence Forces exclusively on a voluntary basis,” the statement said.
The Verkhovna Rada also noted that comments by individual public figures discussing the issue do not reflect the actual legislative work or the position of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.
The parliament urged the public not to be misled by manipulation and to rely only on official sources of information.
