Ukrainian defense companies will launch new joint manufacturing projects on Danish territory.

The corresponding Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal, with his Danish counterparts – Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen, Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

The memorandum provides for Ukrainian defense companies to establish production in Denmark, create joint facilities, exchange technologies, and involve EU funding for the implementation of joint projects.

“Signing the Memorandum is a major step toward forming a new security system in Europe and strengthening the capabilities of the defense-industrial complexes of our countries. During the war, jointly produced products will support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the long term, Ukrainian solutions and experience in the security field will also enhance the defense capabilities of our allies,” emphasized the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

According to Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, there are many advantages to strengthening the integration of the defense industries of Denmark and Ukraine.

“The most obvious of these is helping Ukrainians produce weapons for the frontlines safely, away from massive Russian airstrikes. At the same time, closer cooperation between the defense sectors of our countries will strengthen Denmark’s innovative potential and reinforce its own defense,” commented the Danish defense minister.

During the meeting, Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude for Denmark’s consistent and systematic support of Ukrainian servicemen.

The parties also discussed the exchange of experience and technologies for countering Russian drones.

“In particular, we see significant prospects for cooperation with European partners within the ‘Drone Wall’ initiative, where we will jointly coordinate our response to Russian provocations in the sky,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Defense.

Additionally, the parties focused on the next steps in industrial cooperation. The defense ministers agreed to continue work on developing strategically important projects under the Build with Ukraine initiative.
