On the night of August 12 (starting from 6:00 p.m. on August 11), Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, a Kh-31P anti-radiation missile, Kh-35 guided air-launched missiles from Russia’s Rostov region and the Black Sea, as well as 138 Shahed-type attack drones, including jet-powered variants, Gerbera drones, and Parodiya decoy drones.
The drones were launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The main targets of the attack were the Sumy and Odessa regions.
The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 112 enemy Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country.
Russian aerial weapons struck 16 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at two locations.
