On the night of August 31, starting at 18:00 on August 30, Russia attacked Ukraine with one Kh-59 guided air-launched missile fired from airspace over the Black Sea, as well as 121 Shahed-type attack drones, most of them jet-powered, Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones.
The drones were launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had shot down or suppressed 96 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones in the north, south, east and centre of the country. The Kh-59 guided missile failed to reach its target.
Russian aerial weapons struck 11 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at eight locations.
