Spain will transfer 100 VAMTAC armored tactical vehicles to Ukraine this year, as well as a batch of 155 mm artillery ammunition.
This was announced by Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles during her visit to Kyiv, according to Cadena SER,.
Deliveries of the armored vehicles and ammunition will begin in May, Robles said during her meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The armored vehicles will be used by Ukraine’s border guards.
“This cooperation demonstrates our country’s commitment to defending democratic values, freedom, and a just and lasting peace,” the Spanish minister said.
Robles also announced that this month the number of Ukrainian military personnel trained in Spain will exceed 9,000 soldiers.
