Ukraine and Singapore have intensified talks on opening the market for domestic pork and finalizing the procedures to begin its export, according to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Derzhprodspozhivsluzhba).
During a visit to Singapore, a delegation led by Derzhprodspozhivsluzhba Head Serhii Tkachuk discussed with the Singapore Food Agency the accreditation of Ukrainian enterprises based on previously submitted applications.
“Ukraine already has experience cooperating with Singapore. To date, five types of veterinary certificates for export have been approved: heat-treated and canned meat products, poultry meat, table eggs, egg products, and pet feed,” Tkachuk emphasized.
The delegation also met with representatives of the Meat Traders Association (Singapore), who expressed interest in importing Ukrainian pork to diversify supply and strengthen food security.
Ukrainian representatives from the Meat Industry Association and exporters presented their production capacities and quality standards, while the Singaporean side introduced technologies for preparing meat for retail distribution in Singapore.
As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached on further cooperation to enable Ukrainian businesses to enter this market.
